US Patent Alert: USPTO Requires PTAB Judges to Preside Over Virtual Hearings in USPTO Courtrooms Effective March 14, 2025

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office announced today a requirement that Patent Trial and Appeal Board judges conduct PTAB hearings at USPTO courtrooms beginning on March 14, 2025. The USPTO's announcement also encourages PTAB proceeding participants to attend hearings in person but permits those with scheduled virtual hearings to continue to appear virtually.
